Their versatility is ensured by specially perforated sheets and foil-backed covers. Soft glare-free light is projected forwards into the room through the perforated sheet and backwards onto the wall through the masks at the back of the luminaire.

The new series comprises two types with different specifications. "Softlite" is intended primarily for domestic use and "Softlite electronic" primarily for commercial use. Each type is available in four wattage ratings.

The wall and ceiling luminaires (18 W, 30 W, 36 W and 58 W) have so many different uses in the home. They are ideal around mirrors and in wardrobes, in studies and basements and above all types of work surface. They are equipped with the environmentally friendly T8 Lumilux Plus Eco fluorescent lamp. And because they contain very little mercury they are fully recyclable. Thanks to further development work, the drop in luminous flux after 10,000 hours has been reduced from 18 percent to just 8 percent.

Each of the electronic versions (24 W, 39 W, 54 W and 80 W) has an FQ fluorescent lamp operating in conjunction with electronic control gear. These lamps are particularly bright and compact. Although it is just 1149 mm long, the FQ 54 W for example provides the same luminous flux as the 1500 mm long Lumilux Plus Eco 58 W.

The integrated Quicktronic QT-FQ ECGs from OSRAM are remarkably slim and have been designed for maximum luminous flux (up to 7000 lm in the case of the FQ 80 W). This high luminous efficacy coupled with the benefits of ECG operation such as flicker-free starting, flicker-free light, no humming, long life, impressive economy and excellent lighting comfort make the Softlite electronic ideal for demanding applications. Typical applications include reception areas in legal and medical practices, hospitality rooms, and corridors and walkways in large office buildings.

All the luminaires in the new series can be connected to the mains either at the side or at the back. Above all, they are quick and easy to install. Two screws at the back are all it needs.
