Athletes and referees place high demands on lighting for sport facilities, and lighting has to ensure the security of the athletes, especially at night-time. Other important aspects are the special requirements for sport facilities. Well planned lighting solutions solve this difficult task and combine all the different requirements to offer excellent conditions for everyone concerned.

Ski Arena Tegelberg, Schwangau, Germany

In summer 2005, OSRAM won an order for the design and visualization of the floodlights at Tegelberg, Schwangau. Besides the floodlights for the Adler and Reith ski lifts, the order also included engineering for the illumination of a 2 km cross-country track underneath the Neuschwanstein castle. In addition to the planning, OSRAM created a visualization model for the ski course to assist the decision-making process.

Ski Arena Oberaudorf, Hocheck, Germany
OSRAM won an order for the design and visualization of the floodlights at Hocheck, Oberaudorf. In addition to the planning work, a visualization model of the ski course was created to assist the decision-making process. Using computer-aided illuminance calculations, it was possible to define the coordinates with regard to the required luminous intensity, blinding restriction and color characteristics of the light sources.
