Changes on product names and packaging

In addition the EU directive provides that the term “energy-saving" may only be applied to products with the Energy Level A. In the future, packaging for energy-saving products is to provide information very simply on wattage, energy level, light colour etc. with the help of pictograms. The new directive will also lay down new minimum quality requirements for lamps – to the benefit of the consumer.

The Eco-design Directive for energy-using products (EU Directive) specifies that the packaging of non-directional household lamps must comply with the requirements that following elements must be integrated into the packaging design by September 2010.

Our aim is a lot of light with energy saving

The EU energy label provides information on power efficiency of an energy using product and allevates the comparison between domestic appliance. Products are classified in determined energy efficiency classes for an easy appraisal and comparison. These go from A to G while products with energy label A display the lowest energy consumption.
From September 1st the item "energy saving" product may only be used for products of energy saving class A.

 

EU directive - special purpose lighting

The European Parliament has issued a directive regarding the eco-design of for non-directional
household lamps. However, special-purpose lamps designed essentially for applications such as traffic signals, terrarium lighting and household appliances and clearly indicated as such on accompanying product information are not subject to these eco-design requirements.
